Chanda led the transaction involving MTN Group, one of the largest mobile network operators in Africa. This landmark transaction involved hiving off and disposing of MTN Zambia’s fiber assets to Bayobab Zambia.

Her role included:

  • Preparing the sale/transfer agreement and ancillary agreements
  • Drafting novation deeds for the transfer of fiber customers
  • Assisting with satisfaction of conditions precedents
  • Overseeing transaction completion

This deal was the first of its kind in Zambia, establishing a dedicated entity for fiber connectivity across Africa.

Deal: Potential Acquisition of Mopani Copper Mines by Sibanye Stillwater
Client: Webber Wentzel & Sibanye Stillwater Limited
Practice Area: Mergers and Acquisitions

Assisted in the transaction for Sibanye Stillwater’s potential acquisition of Mopani Copper Mines, with Rothschild & Co as corporate advisors and Webber Wentzel as lead counsel.

Her role included:

  • Conducting legal due diligence on the target company
