Advising a Property Developer on the Establishment of Zambia’s First Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)
We advised a property development firm on the transfer of commercial assets into a publicly listed entity as part of its conversion into Zambia’s first Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Our role covered deal structuring, transaction documentation, and regulatory compliance. The transaction is a landmark in Zambia’s capital markets, expected to boost real estate investment and provide new financial instruments for investors.
We advised on the sale of land within a designated multi-facility economic zone (MFEZ) for the establishment of a solar power facility by an infrastructure-focused acquirer. Our role included transaction structuring, document drafting, and compliance with MFEZ regulations. The project supports Zambia’s renewable energy ambitions and demonstrates the government’s commitment to leveraging economic zones for infrastructure development.
